I’m getting quite excited by the development of one of the chilli plants, variety Thor, which is producing loads of fruits. They’re very pale, with aubergine coloured streaks… I have no idea if this is how they should look? But they appear potentially hot, all pointing upwards flame-like. The original ‘burning bush’ perhaps?
It’s a lovely hot day, but windy, and I’m not sure the cold frame and reflective silver ‘blanket’ are giving enough heat. So I’ve improvised by stacking one cold frame on top of another to create a mini greenhouse. It’s a bit precarious but I’m pleased to put them into service rather than just cluttering up the place.
I’m also hoping that this will spur the other three varieties, and the non-chilli peppers, to turn from flowering to fruiting.
